Your exe's and shortcuts should work although the shortcuts will have the unknow file icon. If not the open your browser - you can do this the same as opening yout virus software (right click a text file)ĭouble click the file and add this to your registry. If this doesnt come up and there is a restore button on your folder options dialogue window click that and all should be ok. If a message comes up telling you that exe is already the chosen type click ok to reassign. Open my computer from the link on your desktop and click control panelĬlick folder options and then go to the file types tabĬlick new and type exe in the box then click ok Do the same with your spyware protection. the virus software will open and tell you it cant open that file. Then choose browse and find your virus exe. If you cant open your virus protection then try right clicking on the virus link or exe or even a txt file and select open with on the menu.
I had the same problem tho and it is a virus that messes up your shell.
I wouldnt do that - not sure about giving permissions so would leave that box checked.
